The red bowl-shaped thing on the table is "Christmas pudding;" an item you would never experience a UK Christmas without. You make or buy it in a bowl, then flip it over onto a plate, and then set it on fire before eating. Yes, I said set on fire. How cool is that? It's made of raisins, currants, breadcrumbs, brown sugar, apples, maybe some alcohol - all sorts of stuff. It tastes fruity - but not terrible-fruity like American fruit cake. You generally eat it with something creamy, like rum butter, brandy sauce, or ice cream.
